This shot was carefully planned and safely executed. It’s one thing being risky for fun, it’s another being risky for commercial work.

This kind of shot not only has to be timed well but also requires at least one spotter to mitigate the risk and reliance on timing for the safety aspect. This road is long and straight with plenty of time to spot approaching traffic, which is why it was chosen.

The whole shot attempt was run with guide of “if it gets too dangerous, we abandon it”. It was a fast paced shoot day with a lot to cover from studio to multiple locations so a lot of shots were very much spur of the moment.

With the spotter, we were able to do two attempts and get the shot with the car in the background in the bag very quickly and safely.
